Wishing you a HAPPY NEW YEAR! (whatever that really means) I might rather say that I wish you a blessed and God-empowered upcoming year. I am not sure all that 2013 will bring, but one thing I know, I want to walk with Father God, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit this year in ever deepening closeness. How awesome it is, that we are called to enter into this fellowship…a relationship and interaction with Trinity God. That thought alone is mind-blowing…
I have attached a one page highlight from 2012, remembering a few things from this past year and the goodness of God in my life and in the places He has called me to serve. It doesn’t begin to cover what all took place, but touches on a few things that happened along the way.
As I look forward to 2013, I am mindful that this upcoming year is a year of special and significant milestones in my life. I feel in some way, it will be a significant year, as I seek the Lord and His ongoing purposes in my life and ministry. A few milestones that I reach this year, include:
I turn 50 years in August of this year….hard to believe….but the documents prove it! Well, of course I am getting older…that is part of the package! But I have seen God’s faithfulness, and want to enter into the next season full of hope and expectation.
As of September, I will have been involved full time with Youth With A Mission for 30 years! I attended a Discipleship Training School in 1983, knowing that I had a call to missions. It seems incomprehensible that 30 years have passed, but the calendar does not lie. God has been my Provider….and also has used many people to be a part of this. I am not sure I knew what I was signing up for, but I do not regret my decision.
And in April of this year, I will have spent 20 years in this nation of Latvia. I came on a one way ticket, but I don’t think I ever imagined that 20 years later I would still be here. But I know that I clearly heard His voice speaking for me to come and invest here…. It has been a challenge and privilege to serve.
Please be praying for me in this coming year. Especially that I would keep a soft, open and obedient heart, and a listening ear to what the Lord is saying. I have ongoing commitments here in Latvia and northern Europe for the next few years and want to give myself fully to His purposes in this season. I am ever more acutely aware of my need for the enabling and empowering of the Lord in all that I do.
Thank you for your love, support and prayers!
