Monday Musings (9/3/12)

Dear Church Family,

What a time of worship we had yesterday at both services.  A total of 12 persons came forward to dedicate or rededicate their lives to the Lord.  It doesn’t matter who you are or how long you have been a disciple we all have times in our lives when we need to rededicate our lives to Jesus.  What a wonderful time of worship and praising God.

I asked the folks gathered at both services if their hearts were turned towards God.  If they had given every part of themselves to Jesus.  I know that some of you who are reading this email were not in church yesterday. I want to challenge you to go to the church website (windoverhills.com) and listen to the sermon from the first service.  Then ask yourself where am I with Jesus?  Have I given him everything?  I am a firm believer that when we do, all desire to sin leaves our lives.  Yes we are still tempted but because of fasting, prayer, and God’s Word we are able to resist the temptation.  Yes we have times when we fall short but we are immediately convicted, we repent, and we turn from that sin.  We are strengthened again in Christ to flee from it and to no longer have it as part of our lives.

So, what about you?  Where are you today?  My prayer is that you are near the heart of God and that daily you are becoming more and more like Jesus.  We know that this is part of our lives when we have the desire to be in God’s Word, the desire to talk to God in prayer, the desire to do the good works that God has planned already for us to do, and the desire to gather with other Christians in fellowship and worship.  This coming Saturday we begin our Saturday evening worship service at 6pm.  I pray that you will join us either for that service or one of the two services on Sunday morning at either 8:30am or 11am.  I would also remind you that Sunday School for everyone starts this Sunday at 9:30am.  Sunday School is our Christian education and is where we grow in Christ.  We all need to learn no matter what our age or station in life.  I pray that you will come and join us for worship and Sunday School.

Along the Journey,

Pastor Jude
