Dear Church Family,
How do you abide in Jesus? What is your routine? My routine is to wake up and spend time in the morning in prayer. My routine does change from time to time. Sometimes I am in a season where I read a daily devotional and other times I am in a daily prayer book. I am always however seeking to spend each day with Jesus. That is what we have been talking about the whole month of August in worship.
When we become a Christian we give up our lives. We say no to all the sinful, self centered choices of life. We say yes to Jesus and the new life that He offers us. Our lives are no longer about ourselves, our desires, or our wants. They are now all about Jesus, His desires for us, and the road that He is leading us down. This is what it means to be a Christian, to follow Him, and to daily abide in Him. So, how are you abiding in Jesus? If you aren’t, start today. Ask Him into your life and seek someone out to mentor you in the faith. We never know when this life journey is going to be over. Today is the day to begin with the Lord and to experience all the wonderful plans He has for you. I pray you will choose life!
Along the Journey,
To Grandparents Hal and Lois Morris. Their new granddaughter arrived on August 23rd. Her name is Abigail Teresa Carpenter and she weighed 7 lbs 5 oz. Parents: Bryan and Emily (Morris) Carpenter and baby are all doing well.
